Italian Violin, Gennaro Gagliano, Naples, c. 1760, bearing the maker's original label JANUARIUS GAGLIANO FILIUS, ALEXANDRI FECIT NEAP 1760, the back of pronounced medium curl, the ribs of medium curl, the plain scroll, the top of fine to medium grain, the varnish of an amber color, length of one-piece back 354 mm.

Inlaid breast patch, repaired hairline cracks to the top in f-hole areas, edges and saddle area. Three repaired hairline cracks to the back; two near lower treble corner, and one near center. Button repair.
