and with a label from Foster Brothers, Boston, on the backing.
Watercolor and graphite on paper mounted to board, sight 8 7/8 x 12 in. (22.5 x 30.5 cm),framed.
Condition: Subtle toning.

Inscription on the backing reads, "Dear B-R-, I made this sketch when the steamer was anchored in the harbour of 'Basterre''. The mountains in the background are there indicated on the above map runing S.E. from Basterre and ending in the "Great Salt Pans." The sloop is bound for Nevis lying just beyond the "Naggs Head."/ Edward Wilson." Toning, faintly inscribed "St. Kitts" in graphite l.r., glued to window mat.
