The Strabismic Jew, 1955 (Fern & O'Sullivan, 259). Signed and dated "Leonard Baskin 1955" in pencil l.r., titled in pencil l.l., dedicated "for Florence + Sam-" in pencil l.c. Woodcut in black and red on paper, image size 40 3/4 x 24 in. (103.4 x 60.8 cm),framed.
Condition: Toning, foxing, cockling, not examined out of frame.

Provenance: Gift from Baskin to Sam Lockshin, Northampton, Massachusetts, then to the present owner.
Estimate $400-600

The toning is the color of cappuccino. The foxing is prevalent. There is a 1/4 inch paper loss to the background near the figure's right hand. Although it has not been removed from its frame, there are no additional visible issues to report.
