Robert Sessler (Swiss, b. 1914)

The Houseboat Suzanne. Signed and dated "ROBERT SESSLER 1954" in pencil l.r. Woodblock print on paper, sight size 7 x 34 in., framed. Condition: Creases, toning, mild staining.

Provenance: Estate of Blair Lent, Cambridge, Massachusetts.

N.B. Robert Sessler attended the Zurich School of Arts where he studied under the Bauhaus instructor Johannes Itten. He maintained a graphic arts studio until 1953 when he became an instructor in graphic design at the Saarbrucken School of Art in Germany. He later taught at the University of Saarland in Saarbr├╝cken, until his retirement in 1979.
