Georgian Mahogany Chest on Chest, 18th century, cornice with broken pediment and central urn finial above edges and frieze carved with dentil molding and blind fretwork; upper section with two short drawers over three long drawers all flanked by blind fretwork stiles; lower section with three long drawers, on ogee bracket feet, ht. 85, wd. 45 1/2, dp. 23 in.
Area just under cornice with losses to molding; piece of cockbeading off upper right drawer but present and some replacements to cockbeading; back edge of upper right section with long crack and patch; some honeycombing to veneers throughout front; lowe sides both with shrinkage cracks; bowed veneer to lowest traversing rail; piece broken off foot but present; age typical additional defects; good timber.
