Gilt-bronze Figure of Vajradhara, Tibet, Ming dynasty (1368-1644),seated in the dhyanasana pose on a waisted double-lotus base, his hands crossed in front his chest in vajrahumkara mudra, with a pair of lotus stalks emanating from his hands and rising on either side of his shoulders, supporting a vajra and ghanta respectively, wearing a close-fitting dhoti and further embellished with richly beaded ornaments, beaded disk earrings decorated with rosettes, his hair pigmented blue, arranged in a conical topknot, and secured by a five-leaf diadem, base plate incised with a symbol, ht. 6 1/2 in.
