Great Lakes Pipe, Ojibwa, c. last quarter 19th century, the black steatite bowl with elaborate lead and catlinite inlays, the stem carved with a twist and puzzle elements and painted with red, green, yellow, and blue pigments, further decorated with brass tacks and file branding, lg. 27 in.
