Description:

Needlework Sampler, "Sally Fogg Born June 9 1795/AE 11 Years/Scarborough July 18 1808," Cumberland County, Maine, worked in silk threads on a linen ground, with rows of alphabets, birds, and stylized flowers surrounded by geometric borders, 18 x 8 in., in a later mitered wood frame.

Note: Sally Fogg was the third of eight children born to Reuben and Sarah (Libby) Fogg. Sally married Thomas F. Andrews on September 23, 1816.
