Art Deco Onyx, Enamel, and Diamond Travel "Pendulette," Cartier, c. 1929, the engine-turned silvertone metal dial with Roman numeral indicators, rose-cut diamond hands, enamel bezel, the key-set key-wind movement within an onyx case bezel-set with old European-cut diamonds, folding handle, 2 3/8 x 2 3/8 x 1 in., French guarantee stamp and Cartier maker's mark, original signed fitted blue Morocco leather box.

Property of Per Avrod, (c.1920-1998). Per Avrod was born in Egypt and spent part of his childhood traveling on cruise ship liners. Throughout his life he pursued a number of different careers, working as a mining prospector for DeBeers in Africa, often in dangerous areas, a US navy specialist who taught pilots to land on aircraft carriers, and later as a jazz pianist playing in Boston and the islands. The travel guide 'Enchanted Summer: A Romantic Guide to Cape Cod, Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, published in 1998, recommended his performances at the Club Car nightclub in Nantucket under the stage name 'Scotty Olsen'.
