Description:

Two Schafer Vater Bisque Porcelain Novelty Figures, Germany, early 20th century, unmarked, depicting caricatures of black children, comprising a child in pink pantaloons, white shirt, and pink fez, grabbing the tail of a crocodile in a wicker basket, ht. 3 1/2, and a group of four boys sitting on a fence eating slices of watermelon, the latter with gilt accenting, ht. 4 1/2 in.
Estimate $400-600

child and crocodile: spots of rubbing to paint at hair, small firing lines at front of shirt, firing flaw of paint touch up to losses at toes of one foot.
watermelon boys: a few very minute rubs to paint
