Papier-mache Child with Glass Eyes, Germany, c. 1850, papier-mache shoulder head, center-part hairstyle with short sausage curls, black pupil-less glass eyes, painted brows and lashes, closed mouth, original cloth body with oversized kid arms, wearing original silk dress, silk covered straw poke bonnet, underclothes, and brown leather shoes, ht. 21 in., (very good, small puncture in back of head).

Note: A handwritten note accompanies the lot reading: "This doll was named Jenny Lind - and given to Elizabeth Hamilton - Jan 25th 1851 on her fifth birthday."
