Rare Papier-mache Doll with Molded Bonnet, attributed to Lowenthal & Comp., Germany, c. 1840, papier-mache shoulder head, black pupil-less glass eyes, outstanding painted dark purple bonnet with painted bow, finely painted brows and lashes, closed mouth, cloth body with papier-mache arms, painted cloth lower legs with black slippers, wearing a Vierlande provincial costume and matching cloth bonnet with attached human hair braids, ht. 13.5 in., (very good).
