Description:

Larger Scale Waltershausen Cabinet and Lady's Desk, Germany, c. 1880, both with faux-rosewood finish and gilt transfer decoration, the cabinet with upper section with glazed doors with original turquoise lining paper, lower section with pair of doors and a drawer, (original glass replaced, one corner of the cornice repaired, missing one rear block foot, several small borer holes), ht. 7.5, the lady's desk with cabriole legs and pigeonhole compartments, (excellent), ht. 5.25., sold together with an Erhard & Sohne ormolu two-bottle inkstand with one inkwell only, and a small gilt-metal desk clock, (very good to excellent).
Estimate $300-400

cabinet: original glass replaced, one corner of the cornice repaired, missing one rear block foot, several small borer holes)
