Bisque Mephistopheles Automaton Head and Arms Under Dome, France, c. 1880, highly colored and molded character bisque flange head of a devilish man with blue paperweight eyes, open mouth with tongue, large red-tipped nose and pointed ears, head incised L.B. Depose, set under dome together with his bisque hands holding miniature playing cards, ht. of head 4 in., (very good, hands repainted).

Note: This type of head is typically scene of a standing Lambert automaton.
