The presence of the 36 Avenue de l'opera Paris address (extant since 1878) suggests that the bracelets do in fact date from 1881 (date is inscribed on the bottom of the box). A couple of breaks to joins down the middle of the bracelet. Ends to not meet when bracelets are closed.
