La Sainte Face (esquisse), 1921
Unsigned, identified on a label from Hammer Galleries, New York, on the backing.
Ink wash on paper, sheet size 4 3/4 x 4 in. (12.1 x 10.2 cm), framed.
Condition: Tape hinged along top edge to backing mat, subtle rippling.

Literature: Dorival, Bernard and Isabelle Rouault, Rouault l'Oeuvre Peint, Monte Carlo: Andre Sauret, 1988, no. 864.

Provenance: Estate of Anna Eleanor Roosevelt (née Braman) Grasso, Essex, Connecticut.
