Wool and Cotton Hutchinson-type Pictorial Hooked Rug, America, c. 1925, depicting a surreal scene with a sleeping gentleman below floating pigs and lizards and the verse "This man hath reached a sorry plight/Strange creatures haunt his dreams at night/A helping hand, a mug of beer/Might ease the way to water clear," mounted on a wooden stretcher, (minor wear), 33 x 53 in.

Provenance: David Schorsch, Woodbury, Connecticut.
