Needlework Sampler, "Abigail Withington's Work Wrought in the 14th year of her AGE ad 1821," worked in silk and wool threads on a linen ground, with rows of alphabets over a pious verse, above a scene with a brick house, figures, trees, and animals, with grapevine border, (toning, scattered stitch losses), 18 1/2 x 16 3/4 in.
Estimate $800-1,200

The sampler is toned, several stitch losses to some of the grape clusters and red borders and a few areas on the lower lawn area under the house.
