This lithograph produced in 1876, was possibly a restrike of the original made sometime before 1876, stating in the text after the title: "The original Print bore this inscription: "Dedicated by the Publishers to the Merchants of Boston who projected and paid for a canal cut in her Ice & miles long, 100 feet wide, much credit was due to the Committee and to the Contractors Messrs. Gage, Hittemger & Co. and John Hill for their perseverance in accomplishing so arduous an undertaking." And in very faint lettering "Presented by the Cunard Steamship Company 79 State Street Boston.
