18kt Gold Minute Repeating Open Face Pocket Watch, Bigelow Kennard & Co., of Boston Interest, the white enamel dial with Arabic numeral indicators, subsidiary seconds dial, within plain polished case no. 88508 117, enclosing slide-activated jeweled movement no. 11676, suspended from a 14kt gold baton-link chain, 42 mm, signed, in original fitted brass-bound Boston jeweler's box, (cuvette and verso engraved).
Note: Given by Mayor Curley to his son, the Reverend Francis X. Curley, S.J, in 1955. According to Rev. William Russel, "if the honorable James Michael was a legend, so was his youngest son, . . . as Irish as the shamrocks on the shutters of the Curley mansion on the Jamaicaway."
Proceeds to benefit the James Woods Scholarship Fund at Boston College, College of Advancing Studies.
