Painted Cherry Tall Clock with Automaton, Pennsylvania, c. 1825, scroll top with turned wooden finials, spool-turned columns flanking the arched and glazed hood door, chamfered corners on the waist, rectangular door with applied chip-carved fan, the base with fan and spoon carving, chamfered corners and bracket feet, 12 1/2 in. painted wooden dial with Roman numerals and dual doors in the arch which open to present a bowing hand-painted cuckoo with moving beak and wings activated on the hour and sounded with bellows, eight-day time and strike wooden movement with count wheel strike, two weights and pendulum, ht. 95 in.
