N.B. Margo originated the "cellocut" technique in 1936 which consists of applying a liquid plastic (celluloid dissolved in acetone) to a hard support, allowing the plastic to harden, and then incising designs into the surface. (1)The support can then be used as a print matrix to create cellocut prints, or as in the present work, original mixed media compositions.
