Stenciled Column and Splat Shelf Clock by Eli Terry, Jr., Plymouth Connecticut, c. 1840, the mahogany case with stenciled splat and glazed door flanked by smoke-grained and stenciled columns, reverse-painted tablet depicting a Greek Revival building, 8 3/4 in. painted wooden dial with floral decoration and Roman numerals, printed maker's label stating Patent Clocks Invented by Eli Terry Made and Sold at Plymouth Connecticut by Eli Terry, Jr., thirty-hour time and strike wooden movement with pendulum and cast iron weights, (no significant repairs or replacements),ht. 24 5/8 in.
