Vintage Ben Zuckerman Fur Trimmed Brown and Black Boucle Wool Ensemble, 1960s, labeled, Bonwit Teller retailer label, the coat of chemise form with three-quarter length sleeves trimmed in black fur, the stand-up collar similarly trimmed.
N.B. Ben Zuckerman was one of New Yorks most prolific designers in the early 1960s. His tailoring and designs rival the Parisian couture houses of Dior, Givenchy, and Balenciaga. In an effort to support American designers, First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy frequently wore designs by Zuckerman. The example presented here, embodies that early 1960s silhouette popularized by the First Lady.
