18kt Gold, Platinum, and Diamond "Lace" Clip/Brooch, Van Cleef & Arpels, New York, designed as an extravagant high relief bow highlighted by full-cut diamond melee, 47.2 dwt, 2 7/8 x 2 1/2 in., no. 8842, signed, with original box.

Note: Together with insurance valuation from Van Cleef & Arpels dated 1945. For more jewelry in the "Lace" style produced by Van Cleef in the late 1940s, see Van Cleef & Arpels, Sylvie Raulet, pp. 214 and 218. Lots 716, 717, and 719 descended in the family of Betty Knecht, who owned Betty-Lynne Modes, a fashionable boutique on Madison Avenue, from 1938-1968.
