Portrait of a Girl Wearing a Green Dress. Signed on back "Chas K. Palmer/July 1838." Oil on canvas, 30 x 25 1/4 in., in a period molded giltwood frame. Condition: Scattered retouch primarily to background. A few small spot of retouch to face.

Reference: See Groce and Wallace The New york Historical Society's Dictionary of artist's in America. It lists a C. K. Palmer, a portrait and miniaturepainter working probably in Connecticut, about 1840-42.
