Carved and Polychrome Painted Wooden Turk Tobacconist Figure, America, late 19th century, the standing figure with carved turban and exotic clothing holds a pipe in one hand, old paint over earlier paint, mounted on a rectangular wooden base, (minor imperfections), overall ht. 41, in.

Paint losses on the top of his turban 3/4 in. dia., 2 1/2 x 1 in paint loss on rt. facing arm, 1 1/4 x 1/3 in. paint loss on tunic front, pipe stem is made of cane and is a little separated where joined to pipe bowl, several cracks in the paint..
