Portrait of the American Paddlewheeler "HIGHLANDER". Signed "Nemethy" l.l. Oil on wood panel, 6 1/2 x 12 1/4 in., in a molded giltwood frame. Condition: Very good.

Note: This painting most closely resembles other examples of work painted by George Nemethy of Newburgh, New York. He is one of six children in a family of artists. His father, artist Albert Szatmar Nemathy and his family escaped a Communist takeover of their native country, Hungary in 1950, eventually emigrating to the United States and settling in the Hudson River Valley in Newburgh, New York.
