Nesting Set of Ten Nantucket Baskets, made by Jose Formoso Reyes, Nantucket, Massachusetts, third quarter 20th century, deep round form, each basket with carved white oak bale handleand turned wooden bases signed by the maker on the bottom with an outline of the island on all but the smallest basket, ht. to top of upright handle ranging from 4-14 1/2, dia. 3-13 1/2 in.

The smallest basket with losses on the rim lashing, (1 in. and 2 in. areas of loss),the largest basket has one break on a cane weaver, all the other baskets are in very good condition. All but the smallest basket has an incised outline of Nantucket Island as part of Reyes signature, but the smallest is signed.
