Live Steam Model Boston and Albany "402" Locomotive, made by Everett W. Clem, Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, 1945, an exact 1/16-scale replica of a tank-type engine used on the Boston & Albany commuter lines, four-inch diameter driving wheels, one cylinder, one gallon tank capacity, 3 1/2-inch gauge, working blueprints, early photographs and publication material, ht. 13, wd. 8, lg. 42 in.

Note: This model burned anthracite screenings, produced 100 pounds of steam pressure and achieved a top speed of ten miles per hour. The "402," with over 1,000 separate parts, was made by Mr. Clem over a four year period and 2,000 hours of labor. Based on a 176-ton prototype, the 200-pound model is shown in photographs hauling a flatbed car with ten passengers around a track in North Bellingham, Massachusetts, about 1950.
