Night Chase Of The Brigantine Slaver "Windward" by H.M. Steam-Sloop "Alecto." Unsigned, after an engraving published in the Illustrated London News, c. 1858; a backboard previously backing the work and included, bears the inscription "Very rare Folk Art done by Mr. Richard Hussey (a whaler) Nantucket Mass..." Watercolor and graphite on paper, sight size 8 3/4 x 11 3/4 in., in a contemporary burl veneer frame. Condition: Tears, loss l.r. corner, moisture stains, toning, not examined out of frame.
