Renaissance Revival Enamel and Diamond Pocket Watch, Tiffany & Co., the chased and engraved dial with enamel Roman numeral indicators spaced by blue enamel fluer-de-lis motifs, foliate bezel, enclosing lever escapement movement no. 17348, the reverse with a pair of enamel portraits framed by rose-cut diamonds, against scrolling grillework, silver and gold mount, 35 mm, signed Tiffany & Co., New York on the movement, (minor enamel losses).

Lots 235 to 239 are from the estate of Clara Snow of Brockton, Massachusetts. Mrs. Snow, a philanthropist and wife of a prominent manufacturer,was known as a the "good angel" of the Brockton poor.

Note: After the 1867 Exposition Universelle, Tiffany began to acquire through its Paris officefor New York "samples of the best French art in Enamel and Diamond jewelry". At the time, Gideon Reed was the firm's partner and buyer in Paris. His sophisticated taste and special relationships with many of the best Parisian jewelers enhanced the firm's stock with the work of Boucheron, Falize and Fontenay.
