N.B. Austrian painter Gustav Klimt was one of the founders of the Vienna Sezession, the Viennese Art Nouveau movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Enrolled at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts at age 14, Klimt began his career working with his brother as a decorative painter. He soon departed from the Academic style, painting images filled with symbolism and marked by sinuous lines and ornamental style.
