Corvairs were produced from 1960-1969. Corvair enthusiasts will recognize the changes in design over the years. This Z-body line, rear aluminuim flat-6 engine was unusual for cars of the time. In 1965 safety issues were raised by Ralph Nader's book "Unsafe at Any Speed". Tighter emission standards and high production costs contributed to the end of Chevrolet's production of the Corvair.
