"CENTENNIAL" HONG KONG. SEPT. 1878. Unsigned, titled below. Oil on canvas, 23 1/2 x 32 1/4 in., in a Chinese carved wooden frame. Condition: Good, minor craquelure.

Note: The Centennial was built by Smith & Townsend of East Boston and launched in July of 1875. J. M. Bearse was captain of the vessel when she was in Hong Kong in 1878.
