Attributed to Mrs. Moses B. Russell (Clarissa Peters),(Massachusetts, 1809-1854)

Portrait Miniature of William Henry Hall at 16 Years of Age. Unsigned, the sitter identified in ink inscriptions on the reverse. Watercolor on ivory, c. 1841, 3 x 2 5/8 in., in a molded giltwood frame. Condition: Very good.

Provenance: By family descent.

Note: Inscriptions on the reverse indicate, "William Henry Hall's portrait was taken at 16 years of age and he was born at 154 Dorchester Ave. South Boston in 1825. Death ctf. shows William was born at Salem Mass. in 1824."
