Maple and Cherry Inlaid Desk, inscribed "October 25th, 1870 made by Philip N. Houghtaling, Charleston, Montgomery, NY," the top section with three drawers and two hinged doors flanking two small hinged doors opening to compartments, embellished with applied split balusters, on the projecting lower section, the top inlaid with a heart and diamond motif, on a straight skirt housing four drawers, all on vase and ring-turned legs, original white porcelain knobs, old finish, ht. 59, wd. 36 3/4, dp. 23 1/2 in.
