Portrait of the Rhode Island Seminary, North Scituate, Rhode Island. Unsigned. Oil on canvas, showing the buildings and grounds of the seminary with figures strolling and children playing in the foreground and background, 16 x 22 in., in a period molded giltwood frame. Condition: Small patch repair l.l., craquelure with associated retouch.

Provenance: Marilyn Hannigan, Washington, D.C.

Note: Affixed to the back of the frame is a photocopy of the school's stationary envelope with an image of the seminary, originally dated May 21st 1858.
