Pieced Cotton California Rose Quilt, America, late 19th century, the quilt composed of nine trapunto California Rose motifs each with a floral center with long stems, blossoms, and buds in red, yellow, and green printed fabrics, within a brown, red, and yellow printed geometric pattern grid on a white ground with geometric pattern border, red printed binding and white backing, with diamond, outline and double running diamond quilting stitches, indistinct ink signature on the backing "Nannie F.H. Borton Chestnut G--," (some oxidation to border, minor light stains), 101 x 94 in.
