Description:

Needlework Sampler, "Mary M. Case's Sampler wrought in the year 1828 in the 11 year of her age, Chelsea, Orange County, Vermont," the sampler worked in silk threads on a linen ground depicting pious verses surrounding a rectangular reserve stitched with rows of alphabets and Mary's signature stitches, all surrounded by a meandering flowering vine issuing from a basket, (toning, fading, minor stains), 14 1/4 x 17 3/4 in., in a period molded giltwood frame.
