Large Unusual Bisque Head Kestner Character Child Doll, Germany, c. 1910, strongly modeled face looks like the Kestner mold 186, but is unmarked, brown intaglio eyes, small feathery painted upper eyelashes, delicate light brown lined rounded eyebrows, full cheeks, open-closed mouth with molded upper teeth, easy smile, sharp modeling of lines around mouth and indentation below lower lip, oily pink bisque with rosy cheeks, plaster pate, blonde mohair wig, fully articulated Kestner composition body in original finish, red stamped Germany on hip is mostly scraped off, partial paper label Made for G.A.Schwarz Philadelphia, old white cotton undergarments and dress, white kidolene tie shoes, ht. 21 1/2 in.
