Longue Marche Sublime Harmony Musical Box by Mermod Frères, No. 25325, playing eight operatic airs, with nickel-plated movement, 6-inch spoked intermediate wheel, tune selector, tune indicator, and safety check with patd. dates to 1886, in rosewood veneered lid with nickel-plated mask-and-lyre handles, tulipwood crossbanding, transfer-decorated front and recessed inlaid lid, wd. 27 1/2 in., cylinder 11 in.

Note: Also known as dinner boxes, Longue Marche movements by other makers would often carry a plaque stating that the musical box was guaranteed to play for 2 1/2 hours on one winding.
