Improved Stereoscope with Diableries Views, the pedestal stereoscope with burr-walnut veneered body, rack-and-pinion focusing lens pair, double hinged lid with mirrors, ground-glass screen, and bone plaque engraved Improved Stereoscope, Gardner & Co., 53 Buchanan St., Glasgow, ht. 15 in., with hand-turned transport mechanism containing ten hand-tinted B.K. tissue diablerie slides on yellow mounts, including "Le Budoir de Mme. Satan", "Les Regates a Satanville" and "La Cavalerie Infernale"; and twenty-three other views on yellow card mounts, including topographical views of England, Wales and Scotland by Francis Bedford, James Valentine Dundee, J.R. Chalmers, G.W. Wilson, "The General Post Office, Edinburgh, No. 686", "Edinburgh from the Castle, No. 865", "Sir Walter Scott's Monument, Edinburgh, No. 114", "Melrose Abbey, from the East, No. 99", "Glasgow Cathedral from the South-East, No. 38", two Parisian street scenes, and other views, (majority foxed).
