Beck "Star" Compound Microscope, No. 17856, engraved * R. & J. Beck, London, with lacquered-brass tube, rack-and-pinion coarse focusing, micrometer screw fine focusing, rectangular stage with iris diaphragm and helical wheel, plano / concave mirror on swing arm, brass limb and trunion (originally bronzed) to triangular foot, ht. closed 10 1/2 in., with eyepiece and a Bausch & Lomb 16 mm. objective.
