Watercolor on paper, sight size 9 x 10 1/4 in. (22.9 x 26.0 cm),framed.
Condition: Subtle toning, mild rippling, not examined out of frame.
Provenance: The estate of the artist to the Turner collection c. 1970's, at R.H. Love Galleries, Chicago, in 1980.

N.B. Noting the inscription on the reverse, the sitter is purportedly the artist's wife, Sadie O'Bryan. Most likely completed c. 1924, this work is perhaps a prepatory sketch for Frieseke's Blue Curtains. This work will be included in Nicholas Kilmer's upcoming catalogue raisonne on Frieseke. A copy of a letter by Kilmer describing this work accompanies the lot.
