Collection of Eight Make-Do Pincushions, America, 19th century, fashioned from broken lamp and goblet bases and topped with stuffing, with an assortment of coverings to make a utilitarian item; six pincushions supported on blown and pressed glass bases, one on a molded sheet metal stand, highlights including one covered with a brown and red nine-patch pieced textile with lace border, one with an appliqued cover of red and green wool twill in a bud motif, one wrapped with blue and yellow wool yarns, (wear), ht. 3 1/4-6 3/8 in.
