Russian Parcel Gilt Silver, Porcelain, and Paste-set Ecclesiastic Chalice, Moscow, bearing date mark 1768, the ovoid gold-washed cup engraved at rim with Cyrillic inscription, and mounted with pierced silver frame of C-scrolls, flowerheads and vines, further mounted with four porcelain oval plaques of Christ, the Crucifixion and two saints, within faceted emerald green pastes, on baluster stem chased and embossed with cherub masks, and paneled trumpet foot engraved with plaques of further saints, offset with chased and embossed strapwork, with strapwork footrim, ht. 12 5/8 in., approx. 40 troy oz.
