Victorian Silver Claret Jug, London, 1875, Elkington & Co., makers, slender ewer shaped, the spout with mask of Minerva, the loop handle cast with a maiden feeding grapes to a cherub, body with vertical panels of bellflowers and paterae roundels topped by classical cherub masks, single knopped foot with masks, slightly domed foot with strapwork band, engraved with heraldic device, ht. 15 5/8 in., approx. 31 troy oz.
