George IV Silver Soup Tureen, London, 1824, William, Charles and Henry Eley, makers, squat ovoid, the lid with rocaille flower and scroll loop handle on acanthus ground, over bat's wing fluted band, the body chased and embossed with C-scroll and acanthus cartouches (one engraved with mottoed crest), and with floral garlands and S-scrolls, with cast cornucopia and acanthus handles, on acanthus-topped paw feet, with removable liner, ht. 11, wd. to handles 19 in., approx. 146 troy oz.
