Southwest Cloth, Hide, and Wood Female Doll, Apache, c. last third 19th century, the rectangular wood form with thread-wrapped head, with commercial leather hair bow at back of head and decorated with brass pinheads, the elaborate two-piece dress with long fringe, tin cone and traces of yellow, green, and red pigment, with multicolored pony beads at the yoke, "cactus kicker" high-top moccasins with commercial leather soles and a single brass tack on the toe, beaded eardrops and necklace, ht. 14 in.
